  • Virtuix launched its VR treadmill, the Omni One
  • The system includes a circular platform where VR users can smoothly move using specialised shoes

The Omni One, a cutting-edge home virtual reality solution developed by Virtuix that is an omnidirectional treadmill simulator for VR games, is set to transform the way people experience VR in their own living spaces.

One of the most significant hurdles in at-home VR has been addressed with the inclusion of an omnidirectional treadmill, allowing users to move freely in a 3D environment without the constraints of limited physical space. This revolutionary feature eliminates the need for teleportation within the VR world, enhancing immersion and gameplay.

Omni One, bringing arcade experiences to homes

Virtuix has ventured into the home VR market with the Omni One. After successfully shipping units to early investors, the company aims to deliver over 1,000 units by the end of the year, extending to all 8,000 investors in the first quarter of 2024. This move seeks to bring the thrilling experience of arcade-style VR to the comfort of people's homes.

How does treadmill work?

The Omni One system includes a circular platform where VR users can smoothly move using specialised shoes. Sensors track the foot movements, which are then translated into the virtual reality environment. This results in the sensation of physically traversing virtual worlds.
