Some notable collapses occurred at crypto firms, including the high-profile case of Three Arrows Capital, a prominent hedge fund. <p>Furthermore, Singapore's state investment firm, Temasek, reduced the pay of the team responsible for recommending a $275 million investment in the now-bankrupt FTX. Such developments indicate a cautious approach by both the government and investors in the crypto space.</p>

<p>Binance, a prominent cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the discontinuation of its support for non-fungible token (NFT) features, with a particular focus on Polygon-based NFTs. From 9 September, Binance will cease its assistance for NFT-related services, and by 26 September, Polygon-based NFTs will no longer be available for purchase on the platform, with all existing listings being cancelled on that date and these assets will be returned to their account after 28 September. Users are urged to withdraw their Polygon NFTs by 31 December.</p>

<h3>Binance shuts down Sandbox NFT staking programme</h3>

<p>Furthermore, Binance will also terminate its Sandbox NFT Staking Programme, which allowed users to stake LAND tokens and earn SAND rewards within the popular Polygon-based Metaverse game, The Sandbox. The staking programme will conclude on 26 September and on 27 September, Binance will automatically unstack users' LAND NFTs. These tokens will be returned to users' Binance accounts on 28 September, along with the final staking rewards.</p>

<p>Binance initially launched its NFT marketplace in April 2021, introduced support for Polygon-based NFTs on 8 March 2023 and rolled out its Sandbox staking programme just over a month later on 28 April 2023. Consequently, each of these features had a relatively short lifespan, being available to customers for six months or less.</p>

<h3>Binance's focus shifts from NFTs</h3>

<p>It's worth noting that Binance has no plans to delist Polygon's MATIC token from its main exchange. MATIC is a significant cryptocurrency, ranking 14th by market capitalisation, with a total supply valued at $5.05 billion. Despite a slight 1.7% decrease over 24 hours, MATIC remains actively traded on Binance, with the exchange handling a substantial portion of its trading volume, particularly on 8 September, where it accounted for at least $37 million of MATIC's $181 million trading volume.</p>

<p>In short, Binance is discontinuing its NFT-related services, including support for Polygon-based NFTs and its Sandbox NFT Staking Program, as part of its efforts to streamline its offerings, while continuing to support the MATIC token on its platform.</p>
