Crypto prices today 29 Dec 2023: Bitcoin dips by 1.00%, overall crypto market in red

On Friday, Bitcoin, the largest crypto across the world, witnessed a decline of 1.00 percent over the last 24 hours and stands at $42,684.38, at the time of writing this article (1100 IST). Solana gained by 2.29 percent, Toncoin jumped by 2.31 percent, UniSwap hiked by 2.48 percent. Contrastingly, Ethereum lost by 1.16 percent, XRP declined by 1.56 percent, and BNB decreased by 1.51 percent from the previous day.

On 29 December, the global crypto market cap stood at $1.67 trillion, registering an decrease of 1.17 percent, the total crypto market volume also witnessed a plunge of 7.14 percent to $74.95 billion.

At present, Bitcoin’s dominance is at 49.9 percent, while that of Ethereum is at 16.9 percent.

Gainers and losers

Today's top gainer was Kaspa, which grew by 18.37 percent since the last day. It was followed by Bonk, Helium and PancakeSwap, among others. On the other hand, Arweave was the top decliner of the day, recording a fall of 8.76 percent in its prices. Further, NEAR Protocol, WEMIX, Aave, etc. were in the red zone.

Memecoins down

Today, Elon Musk’s favourite Dogecoin lost by 1.57 percent and Shiba Inu registered a drop of 1.95 percent in its value.

Metaverse tokens register mixed momentum

Popular Metaverse tokens like Stacks, The Sandbox, Axie Infinity, and Chromia witnessed a growth in their value, rising by 0.37 percent, 0.48 percent, 0.98 percent, and 2.23 percent, respectively. However, Internet Computer, Render, and Decentraland recorded a fall in their prices.
