Crypto prices today 21 Dec 2023: Bitcoin up by 2.30%, IoTeX emerges as top gainer

On Thursday, the cryptocurrency market displayed green trends. The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, gained by 2.30 percent, reaching $43,636.60. However, Ethereum experienced a decrease of 0.62 percent, valued around $2,200.21.

Other popular cryptos like XRP and Cardano saw an incline in their prices, by 0.75 percent and 1.41 percent respectively, as of the time of writing this article (10:30 IST).

Bitcoin and Ethereum prices increase as the market moves to a ‘Strong Buy’ sentiment. The anticipation of ETF approval for Bitcoin within the stipulated time period is driving this optimism. Analysts however remain cautious due to Bitcoin’s bollinger bands indicating potential price volatility.

The global crypto market cap noted a growth of 1.79 percent, reaching $1.63 trillion, and the total trading volume also saw an increase of 24.70 percent, totalling $71.43 billion.

Gainers and decliners

Today, IoTeX and Sei emerged as the top gainers, with gains of 31.12 percent and 14.90 percent respectively. Conversely, Helium and WOO Network were among the top losers, declining by 11.99 percent and 5.57 percent respectively.

Green trading activity for memecoins

Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin observed a gain of 0.27 percent, Shiba Inu and Floki also witnessed a growth of 0.42 percent and 0.95 percent respectively. In contrast, BoneShibaSwap and Pepe traded in the red zone.

Metaverse tokens display green momentum

Popular Metaverse tokens like Stacks and Axie Infinity saw an increase of 9.60 percent and 4.64 percent, in the last 24 hours, respectively. Meanwhile, tokens like Internet Computer and InSure DeFi registered a fall of 3.08 percent and 0.91 percent respectively.
