Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal appreciates students’ efforts at Delhi Robotics League
Yesterday, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, inaugurated the Delhi Robotics League (DRL) and HE21 Exhibition at Thyagaraj Stadium. The league is India's first nationwide robotics competition designed to improve students' abilities.

Highlights
- Delhi CM called the event as a ‘good idea’ for upscaling the growth of students
- In total, 68 teams from 38 schools have participated in the two day Delhi Robotics League
While speaking at the finals of the Delhi Robotics League and HE21 Exhibition on Thursday in Thyagaraj Stadium, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, appreciated the usage of AI technology among students of classes 11 and 10. At the event, Kejriwal added that this high-tech competition was being held for the first time in the nation.
The league is India's first nationwide robotics competition designed to improve students' abilities and overall skills, stated Kejriwal.
“A high end competition like this has not been held anywhere in India before. Today there are government schools as well as private schools who are participating in this competition. But the maximum number of students participating in it are from SoSE. We can say that the level of education in the government schools of Delhi is much above that in other states,” the Chief Minister said.
Students utilise technology to solve problems
‘Robo Kancha’ is the title of DRL 2023's theme. The initiative has been taken to help students foster the growth of a collaborative mindset. By conceptualising game ideas, designing and building robots, testing, debugging, and finally developing a winning strategy, the goal is to teach students problem-solving skills.

The Delhi CM further stated that it is a good idea to start educating Class 11 and 12 students on how to use and harness technology for problem-solving now rather than waiting until it was too late. The students participating in the league have made products that we couldn’t even think of in our time, he added.
Kejriwal recalled few memories at the event
"I studied mechanical engineering at IIT-Kharagpur. I went to my village during the holidays. My grandfather asked me to repair a fan. I told him that I could not repair it. He said, 'You say you come from IIT and you cannot repair a fan," Chief Minister Kejriwal recalled.
