Crypto prices today 7 July 2023: Bitcoin declines by 1.18% & Ethereum falls by 3.03%

Most of the cryptocurrencies recorded losses on Friday. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency in the world, fell by 1.18 percent to stand at $30,125.12. At the time of writing this article (1000 IST), its nearest rival, Ethereum, declined by 3.03 percent to stand at $1,854.96.  

Due to fluctuations in the market, the value of top tokens like XRP declined by 1.97 percent, Cardano plunged by 1.46 percent, Litecoin slipped by 6.16 percent and Polkadot dropped in its value by 2.32 percent. The price of Polygon, and Avalanche also decreased by 0.63 percent and 0.61 percent, respectively. 

The global cryptocurrency market cap dropped by 1.70 percent to $1.17 trillion. On the other hand, total crypto market volume increased by 45.81 percent to $46.79 billion. 

Gainers and decliners

Today's top gainers include Maker, Bitcoin SV, Solana and Flow.  Contrastingly, coins like Ape Coin, WOO Network, Fantom and Lido DAO were among the top losers. 

Memecoins went down 

Popular memecoins recorded a plunge over the last 24 hours. The value of Shiba Inu fell by 3.47 percent, Pepe decreased by 5.06 percent, Floki declined by 2.96 percent. The price of other tokens like Dogelon Mars also suffered by 2.55 percent, followed by a loss registered in the price of Dogecoin by 2.48 percent.

Metaverse tokens experienced decline  

Most of the Metaverse tokens experienced a decline in their prices. Internet Computer slipped by 3.98  percent, and  Stacks plunged by 3.52 percent. Other tokens like, Decentraland, The Sandbox, Axie Infinity, and Theta Network also registered losses.
