Technological changes comparison
The future of AI will present both challenges and opportunities, according to Professor Colin Turner.
He draws a connection between the transformative potential of AI and earlier technological developments, such as the global web, that have had a significant impact on the world.
Summits objective
According to Professor Turner, the objective of the summit is to foster an open and honest dialogue on the challenges, ethical implications, and opportunities presented by Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on the advantages for students and the wider North-West region and beyond.
Back in May, a bunch of teachers from both the public and private sectors in the UK said they were really worried about how quickly AI is changing, calling it "bewildering" in an article for The Times. They said there's a lot more to talk about and understand about AI.
AI’s potential for professionals
One of the objectives of the event is to discuss the potential benefits of AI for coding and digital design professionals and demonstrate its applicability to a wide range of sectors.
The Prime Minister of UK, Rishi Sunak, stressed on the need to adjust regulations in order to keep up with the rapid development of AI, emphasising the importance of keeping up with technological progress.
