Introducing YouTube Playables: Exclusive gaming for YouTube Premium subscribers

Google has unveiled YouTube Playables, a new game streaming platform exclusively for YouTube Premium subscribers. This move follows Google's earlier attempt with Stadia, a game streaming service that was discontinued. However, YouTube Playables focuses on mobile games, catering to casual gamers.

Unlike Netflix Games, which allows game downloads for offline play, YouTube Playables is a streaming-only service. While this means an active network connection is required, it eliminates the need for game downloads, saving device storage. YouTube Playables offers quick access to a variety of games, encouraging users to switch between them seamlessly.

Premium users can explore the gaming library under the Explore tab. The YouTube Playables service is accessible and free for YouTube Premium subscribers to use for gaming until 28 March 2024. After this date, there may be changes to the service based on user feedback and the results of the experimental phase.
