Gaming platform Darewise Entertainment & Horizen Labs partner to create a Bitcoin Metaverse token, to boost web3 gaming

Darewise Entertainment, an online gaming platform and a division of Animoca Brands, will work with blockchain startup Horizen Labs in a ground-breaking partnership to launch the first-ever Metaverse token based on the Bitcoin network. This alliance represents a pivotal point in the development of Bitcoin beyond its status as a store of wealth by attempting to compete with Ethereum's dominance in the web3 and gaming industries.

Darewise Entertainment's CEO, Benjamin Charbit, emphasises the immense potential for Bitcoin to expand its capabilities beyond a mere store of value. The project signifies a bold move, as Bitcoin was originally designed for peer-to-peer transactions rather than complex smart contracts and token transactions.

The proposed Metaverse token is intended to serve as the primary currency within Darewise's flagship game, ‘Life Beyond.’ It will facilitate a wide range of in-game transactions involving assets, virtual lands, and more.
