WhatsApp is developing a feature that aims to enhance the experience of new users joining existing groups on the widely-used messaging platform. This upcoming feature, known as "Recent History Sharing," has been detailed by a WhatsApp feature tracker called WABetaInfo.
Presently appearing on WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.18.5, the feature will exhibit messages sent within the group by current members up to 24 hours before the new user's addition to the group.
Beta testers await access as development continues
It is important to note that this feature is still in its developmental phase. As a result, those testing the beta version of WhatsApp are unable to access it at this time and a release date for all users has not been specified.
While WhatsApp is in the process of introducing the Channels feature, which allows new users to view up to 30 days of past messages upon joining a new channel, the 'Recent History Sharing' feature for groups provides a more concise 24-hour time frame.

What will you get from this feature?
Admins of the groups will be the only ones capable of enabling this setting. Existing members will receive a notification regarding the activation of this feature. The notification in the chat will confirm the enabling of recent history sharing for new participants.
Meta's CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently revealed a new feature that will automatically employ participant names for new group chats. This innovation eliminates the need for users to come up with a group name when creating a new group on WhatsApp.
The automatic group naming feature will soon be accessible on all platforms, although it is currently functional in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android and not yet available on the iOS version. Users can anticipate the gradual rollout of this feature to their smartphones over the upcoming weeks.
