Meta announces Mixed Reality fund for Indian developers and entrepreneurs
Meta has launched a thorough programme in India that comprises a kind donation of $250,000 with the aim of empowering the country's XR (Extended Reality) ecosystem.

Meta, a multinational conglomerate that specialises in various areas of technology, has introduced a mixed reality programme for Indian developers which includes a $250,000 award for local companies and developers to create experiences and applications.
With Meta's Presence Platform, which offers a wide variety of AI and machine perception capabilities for the Meta Quest Platform and Metaverse, developers can create apps. According to the company, the fund aims to support creativity and create a national environment at the national level for XR (Extended Reality) technology.
Meta to develop XR ecosystem in India
Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President for Meta in India, stated that the Presence Platform plays a crucial role in the company's Metaverse vision by making virtual experiences more tangible and inclusive. The aim is to enhance the accessibility and realism of virtual experiences through the use of the Presence Platform.
With the help of this programme, a chosen group of up to five Indian entrepreneurs and developers will be given a cash award as part of the scheme, as well as devoted mentorship and advice from the Meta Reality Labs specialists.
Additionally, they will be given the chance to join Meta's expanding developer ecosystem by uploading their creations to Quest App Lab. At the conclusion of the training, Meta stated that selected companies would also be introduced to top local venture capital funds.

The fund has started accepting applications and is actively encouraging both established and aspiring entrepreneurs and developers to explore the potential of the Presence Platform by conducting tests and experiments.
The company stated that the selected developers will be required to include Presence Platform's capabilities by embracing features like Passthrough, Scene Understanding, Spatial Anchors, Shared Spatial Anchors, Voice SDK,Text to Speech, Interaction SDK for Hand Tracking, and Social Presence APIs, into new or current Meta Quest apps.
Who can join the programme?
The Meta Mixed Reality programme has opened its doors to developers and companies across India, irrespective of their size or prior experience in MR (Mixed Reality) development. Individual developers are required to be at least 18 years old when submitting their proposals. Meta invites both established organisations and coming talents to explore the immense potential of the Presence Platform .
In recent years, Meta has made significant investments in emerging technologies such as virtual reality and augmented reality, with the goal of delivering engaging and interactive experiences to its users.
