Collaboration with PayU & Razorpay

Meta has collaborated with leading payment gateway providers PayU and Razorpay to offer comprehensive support for payments in India. Users can now seamlessly make payments using a variety of methods, including debit and credit cards, net banking, and UPI apps. During his virtual address at the Conversations 2023 event, Mark Zuckerberg highlighted that this feature enables customers to make payments to Indian businesses almost instantly. Furthermore, Meta is actively working towards expanding the range of payment options available within chat threads.

Expanding Meta verification

Additionally, Meta is extending its "Meta Verified" program to businesses on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook, starting with small enterprises and gradually including larger ones. Verified businesses will receive official badges, protection against impersonation, dedicated account support, and enhanced business features over the coming months. This expansion follows the earlier introduction of Meta Verified for individual users on Facebook and Instagram in India.

Furthermore, Meta announced the upcoming release of 'WhatsApp Flows,' a feature designed to automate common business processes, such as booking tickets, filling forms, or submitting applications. This innovation is set to empower businesses with greater efficiency and ease of operation.

With these new updates and partnerships, Meta is poised to enhance its presence in India's dynamic digital ecosystem and facilitate seamless transactions for both users and businesses on the WhatsApp platform.
