Crypto prices today 5 Jan 2024: Bitcoin up by 1.16%, Celestia emerges as top gainer
The cryptocurrency market displayed an upward trend today. Other popular cryptos like Uniswap, Cosmos and NEAR Protocol witnessed a growth in their prices.

On Friday, the cryptocurrency market displayed green trends. The leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, gained by 1.16 percent, reaching $43,723.71. Ethereum also experienced an increase of 0.54 percent, valued around $2,250.67.
Other popular cryptos like Cosmos and UNUS SED LEO saw an incline in their prices, by 0.44 percent and 1.68 percent respectively, as of the time of writing this article (1130 IST).
The global crypto market cap noted a growth of 0.55 percent, reaching $1.66 trillion, however the total trading volume also saw decline of 32.65 percent, totalling $79.86 billion.
Gainers and decliners
Today, Celestia and Osmosis emerged as the top gainers, with gains of 19.59 percent and 16.13 percent respectively. Conversely, Blur and Internet Computer were among the top losers, declining by 9.05 percent and 8.36 percent respectively.
Green trading activity for memecoins
Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin observed a gain of 0.28 percent, Shiba Inu and Memecoin also witnessed a growth of 1.45 percent and 3.00 percent respectively. In contrast, Bonk and Pepe traded in the red zone.
Metaverse tokens display green momentum
Popular Metaverse tokens like Stacks and Axie Illuvium saw an increase of 4.43 percent and 0.71 percent, in the last 24 hours, respectively. Meanwhile, tokens like Internet Computer and Render registered a fall of 7.43 percent and 5.55 percent respectively.
