As per the recent information, Zomato has already started experimenting with AI to enhance the overall consumer experience with its products that make use of this advanced technology.
The food giant which also owns the instant delivery service platform, Blinkit, plans to hire developers with expertise in machine learning, data science, and natural language processing, according to people familiar with the matter. To lead AI-related activities in the company, "Zomato has appointed a head of AI product development," the source said.
Both Zomato and Blinkit have further planned to integrate AI into several client-interfacing functions like search and notifications. To improve the entire customer experience, the food giant is also said to be focused on integrating AI services in backend tools like product photography and customer support.
Zomato handles increasing workload through neural networks and automation
Several reports on Zomato have highlighted that a large portion of customer communications within the app have already been automated, and this integration with generative AI will be able to handle the increasing loads more efficiently and effectively.
A Zomato representative recognised the matter and confirmed the upcoming AI advancement, saying, "Over the past year, Zomato has fine-tuned neural networks that predict food preparation and delivery time, among other things."
Zomato and Blinkit plans on hiring engineers
Zomato is reportedly working with organisations like Google, Adobe, OpenAI, and Microsoft to develop the field of AI. “Zomato and Blinkit have been consistently hiring engineers with machine learning skills over the past few years," said the Zomato spokesperson. "We are always searching for talented engineers who can assist us in developing new models to create services that delight customers and streamline business processes."
Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, noted in a recent blog post that a committed team made up of engineers and a product manager successfully produced ‘Recipe Rover.’ With the use of ChatGPT and Midjourney, this creative engine suggests recipes and helps users find the necessary ingredients.
