Lately, the Indian government is investing significantly in artificial intelligence (AI). Moreover, the 2023 Budget was directed towards the boost in AI solutions in India, by establishing three centers of excellence for AI at top educational institutions to improve knowledge in the country for youth. The aim of Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, to focus on artificial intelligence-based centers, may be one of the primary reasons for other states to upskill their populace with AI initiatives.

‘AI For Youth’ focuses on students. Approximately 2000 schools will participate in this programme which is enabled by Odisha's 5T (teamwork, technology, transparency, transformation, and time limit) initiative. Additionally, this would be provided in Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas, english medium CBSE schools.
According to the CM, this will unleash the youth's boundless potential and create a future in which AI is used as a tool to empower citizens.
Odisha programme will be divided into two sectors
The said programme is divided into two sections, dubbed AI Aware and AI Appreciate. The AI Aware programme goes over fundamental subjects including what AI is and differentiation between AI and non-AI machines. The AI Appreciate course, on the other hand, includes a primer on AI ethics and responsible AI along with descriptions of the many AI domains and their impact on industries.
The CM further said, "These courses may be finished in just 4 hours and are offered to everyone online. Students, stay-at-home parents, professionals, and even senior folks are among the target audiences. Users who successfully complete the course's quiz will receive a badge that can be shared on social media.”
