Create a video without the need for a voiceover recording with new AI tool Augie; here’s how it works
With the voice cloning feature, users are given the ability to record their own voice or the voice of another person, which could then be duplicated and used in a number of short videos.

- Aug X launched Augie, an AI-powered video production platform
- The AI voice cloning feature allows you to do voice-overs without having to record them
- Toeman explains Augie allows users to create, upload, and use pre recorded or library voices
Aug X Labs, a pioneering tech company, has launched ‘Augie,’ an AI assistant for video creation and editing with an advanced voice cloning feature. This cutting-edge capability allows users to effortlessly generate video content with a personalised touch, eliminating the need for traditional recording processes.
Teaming up with ElevenLabs, Aug X has integrated a game-changing voice cloning function into its Augie platform. This enhancement empowers users to record their own voice or that of others, which can then be replicated for use in a variety of short videos. Augie's primary target audience includes marketers and social media teams seeking a swift and hassle-free solution for adding narration, visuals, text, and music to their videos, all without the complexities of audio and video editing.
How does the voice cloning tool work?
Jeremy Toeman, the founder of Aug X, shared that the decision to introduce voice cloning was driven by the desire to accommodate individuals uncomfortable with conventional narration recording.
In an interview with The Verge, Toeman said that users could either compose or upload a script to Augie and use a prerecorded voice or pick one from its library. Users would need to record a brief segment of their voice saying anything. The tone of that voice will then read the script in various ways, such as serious, excited, spooky, etc., depending on the tone of the video.
He further added that users can also select images from a library or use AI-generated images to add to the movie. Toeman imagines marketing teams producing quick films without the need to schedule a recording session with a brand representative.
Innovation in voice cloning technology
In May 2023, Augie started a public beta phase and made its voice cloning feature available to everyone. However, considering server-related costs, Aug X might be concerned about restricting the quantity of voice clones, video quality, and length available to free users in order to maintain viability. This demonstrates the company's forward-thinking strategy for preventing future technological misuse.
Even though voice cloning has been included, Aug X has taken great effort to resolve any ethical usage problems. Only individual accounts will have access to recorded voices, preserving the authenticity of each organisation. Augie's thorough voice recording verification procedure guards against unapproved AI-generated material.
In collaboration with ElevenLabs, Aug X is actively working to identify AI-generated voices and videos, highlighting their commitment to maintaining accountability within the AI-powered content creation landscape.
