OPPO unveils upgraded Xiao Bu assistant on AndesGPT for advanced AI conversations

Chinese smartphone giant OPPO is launching an expansive experiential activity centred around its latest version of the Xiao Bu Assistant, which leverages the AndesGPT large language model.

This updated assistant showcases significant strides in AI conversation technology, boasting enhanced semantic comprehension, content generation from text prompts, and improved summarization abilities. The AndesGPT model, developed by OPPO's Andes Intelligent Cloud team, is at the core of the revamped Xiao Bu Assistant.

What will Oppo's AI tech offer?

Having undergone two years of development, AndesGPT builds on the foundation of OBERT self-developed models with varying complexity and performance levels. The OBERT models, featuring parameters ranging from one hundred million to one billion, garnered notable recognition, briefly securing the fifth position in the Chinese language understanding benchmark CLUE1.1 and clinching the top spot in the KgCLUE1.0 leaderboard for large-scale knowledge graph question-answering.

AndesGPT enhances OBERT's framework by adopting key technologies, such as continuous learning from Chinese dialogue data, fine-tuning through instruction, integration of reinforcement learning with human feedback, and augmentation of the knowledge base.

This amalgamation of advancements positions AndesGPT as an ambitious project, showcasing OPPO's commitment to leading in the realm of conversational AI. Impressively, AndesGPT ranked fifth in the C-Eval evaluation rankings in June.
