In a recent report published on Wednesday, LinkedIn, the professional networking platform, revealed that the landscape of job skills in India is undergoing a significant transformation due to the rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Over the past two years, job posts mentioning AI or Generative AI have more than doubled, increasing by 2.5 times. Moreover, applications for positions related to AI have grown by 2.1 times compared to non-AI job posts, indicating a rising interest and demand for AI-related roles in the Indian job market.
Professionals embrace AI with enthusiasm
According to the report, a staggering 98% of professionals in India are excited about integrating AI into their work routines. Many individuals are looking forward to leveraging AI for seeking career advice (75%) and handling challenging situations at work (78%). This enthusiasm among professionals highlights the growing acceptance of AI technologies and their potential to enhance various aspects of the workplace.
Strategic shifts in HR roles & the future of work
The survey, conducted globally with 29,000 professionals, including 1,313 HR professionals, shed light on the evolving role of HR in the face of AI integration. In India, 92% of talent professionals stated that their roles have become more strategic in the last year, particularly in talent acquisition. Furthermore, 80% of HR professionals worldwide believe that AI will serve as a valuable tool in the next five years. It is anticipated to empower HR professionals, enabling them to concentrate on the strategic and human-centric aspects of their roles, while routine tasks are simplified through automation.
As AI continues to permeate various sectors, businesses are urged to recognise this transformative moment and invest in the necessary skills for their teams. Ruchee Anand, Senior Director of Talent and Learning Solution at LinkedIn India, emphasised the importance of businesses equipping themselves with the right talent to thrive in the age of AI.
