Google is set to open its AI chatbot, Bard, to teenagers starting this Thursday. According to a blog post by Tulsee Doshi, teens around the world can use Bard if they meet Google’s minimum age requirement, usually 13. Initially in English, more languages will be added over time.
To ensure a safe experience, Google has implemented various safety measures. Teens will be introduced to generative AI through resources like a video during onboarding. For fact-based questions, Bard's answers will be double-checked with Google Search. Bard is also trained to recognise and avoid inappropriate content for younger users.
