Highlights
- ChatGPT is offline
- Users of the platform react to outage on Twitter
- No official tweet from OpenAI on the outage
ChatGPT is down! You heard that right. The sensational AI chatbot by OpenAI that's taken the internet by storm has suffered an outage on both web applications and iOS devices. At 1525 IST, when we tried to access the platform and fed prompts into the message box, there was an error message at the top of the screen that read: "We're experiencing exceptionally high demand. Please hang tight as we work on scaling our systems."
While users of the free ChatGPT service have claimed they are not able to use the platform, it hasn't been confirmed whether ChatGPT Plus subscribers are also facing similar issues.

Most users who use ChatGPT for daily work have taken to Twitter to post about how life has become difficult in the absence of the AI chatbot. Ever since the introduction of ChatGPT, many content creators, influencers and even marketing agencies have leveraged the AI chatbot as it's been able to help them reduce the time it takes for users to research content.
While many users are seeing the more whimsical side to this scenario, numerous organisations that are dependent on ChatGPT for their daily work would now have been left with no other option but to look for alternate solutions to this problem (Google Bard, maybe?).
While OpenAI hasn't released any official statement on the outage of its platform, the internet has certainly been given a reality check on what would happen if AI went offline one day.
