What passengers will get under the codeshare agreement?

Under this codeshare agreement, passengers will experience a smoother journey. They will be able to obtain their boarding passes at their initial departure point for all segments of their trip using a single ticket. Furthermore, their baggage will be checked through to their final destination, reducing hassles during connections.

It's important to note that passengers transitioning from international to domestic flights will need to clear customs upon their arrival in India, in compliance with government regulations.

Added benefits for passengers

AIX Connect will uphold the baggage allowance specified on Air India tickets, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience. Additionally, Air India travellers connecting to AIX Connect flights will be treated to complimentary in-flight meals, enhancing the overall flying experience.

Expanding Air India's domestic reach

Furthermore, under this codeshare partnership, Air India has expanded its domestic flight network to include four new destinations in India: Bagdogra, Bhubaneswar, Ranchi, and Surat. These additions complement the existing shared destinations on both airlines' routes.

Passengers from these originating cities will have the opportunity to connect to Air India's extensive international network via major hubs in Delhi and Mumbai.

A win-win for AIX connect

This agreement not only benefits Air India but also empowers AIX Connect to tap into Air India's global distribution network. This includes direct channels and the global travel agency network of Air India.

AIX Connect, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India, is in the process of integration with Air India Express, another wholly-owned subsidiary of Air India. This move aims to create a unified low-cost carrier within the Tata Group's airline business.
