The magazine released the interview in its April 14 edition which highlighted "the first interview" with Schumacher since his injury in 2013.

The 'Deception' of AI

Though the magazine did highlight on the front cover that the interview sounds "deceptively real", the article carried a series of alleged quotes that were generated by the computer which were revealed at the end of the article that created some animosity among Schumacher fans. Also, a spokesperson for the Schumacher family confirmed on April 20 that they will be taking legal action against the magazine.

This development comes amid the growing curiosity and wave of the regulatory movement against AI-generated content and it's left governments and states in a precarious situation as to how to deal with this form of technology.

There have been several instances where artists are complaining about AI-generated music and art forms that have been inspired by their original works. This has created a huge problem in terms of copyright.

Putting safeguards in place

Twelve European Union lawmakers have called for the "safe" and collaborative development of artificial intelligence technologies and say that AI needs to have a universal set of rules for all jurisdictions. They have also asked for principles to be defined for the development, control and deployment of AI tools.

AI has also been used to impersonate celebrities, Recently, a clip of rapper Kanye West went viral online where he seems to be performing a cover of Drake's hit single “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, where the audio was found to be AI-generated.

Major record labels and music production companies have expressed their concerns over AI-generated music and how it will impact the industry in the long run. Streaming platforms like Spotify have been advised to block AI-related services from harvesting copyrighted media.
