In the ever-evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, OpenAI has emerged as a prominent player now the company has launched DALL-E 3, the latest version of its text-to-image tool that uses its highly popular AI chatbot, ChatGPT, to enhance prompt responses.

Starting in October, DALL-E 3 will be accessible to customers using the ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise plans via the Application Programming Interface (API), according to the company's announcement. Users can make image requests and refine prompts through interactions with ChatGPT.

OpenAI stated, "DALL-E 3 has the capability to transform nuanced requests into incredibly detailed and precise images."

ChatGPT Plus is an optional subscription that grants you access to a more advanced and capable language model called GPT-4. It also unlocks ChatGPT plugins and Code Interpreter, which greatly enhance the chatbot's capabilities.

To get that, it's a paid subscription for a month.

Enhanced safeguards

OpenAI is introducing stricter safeguards in the latest version of its tool to prevent the generation of violent, adult, or hateful content.

The tool will also be equipped to decline requests for images of public figures by name or those seeking images in the style of living artists, adding an extra layer of content control.

OpenAI allows creators to decide if they want their work to be used in training future text-to-image tools, granting them greater control over how their content is utilised.

AI-generated images have raised numerous concerns. In August, a Washington DC-based court ruled that artworks created solely by AI without human input cannot be copyrighted under US law.

OpenAI is currently entangled in several lawsuits. A US author trade group, representing writers like John Grisham and George R.R. Martin, has sued the company alleging that OpenAI unlawfully trained its chatbot, ChatGPT, using their work.
