Google Bard, which is an AI-enabled large language model that was launched earlier this year, is now part of a new generation of AI-powered chatbots that can provide detailed written responses to questions and requests.

As per Google’s latest blogpost, Google Bard, can now connect with other Google services like Gmail, Maps, and YouTube to provide more comprehensive answers to user queries.

Google has now announced a significant update to the program called Bard Extensions, which will enable users to connect other Google services to Bard so that it can work with them to provide a response to a query.

For example, when asking Bard to help plan a vacation, users can ask Bard to get the dates that work for family members from Gmail, use Google Maps to get directions to the airport, and find YouTube videos about the best things to do at the destination.

Google Bard is now able to access and use information from other Google services to provide more comprehensive and helpful answers to user queries. This makes Bard a more powerful and beneficial tool for users who need to find information or complete tasks.

Bard extensions privacy

Bard will have a strong focus on user privacy, with users required to actively give permission for Bard to access their Google services, and any content lifted will not be reviewable by a human unless the user specifically asks Bard to flag it for review.

Bard will now also enable users to double-check the responses they receive using a new “Google it” button, which will check the response against linked Google search results and highlight passages.

These linked search results will be guaranteed by Bard about their validity, even for the ones that have differing results.

How can Bard be more useful?

Bard Extensions is a new way to use Bard that lets you find and see information from other Google tools, like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Maps, YouTube, and Google Flights and Hotels.

This means that you can get more comprehensive and helpful answers from Bard, even when the information you need is spread out across different apps and services.
