PVR INOX Limited, India's prominent cinema chain, unveiled a groundbreaking initiative, 'PVR INOX Passport,' on Saturday, aimed at revitalising the cinema-going experience. Starting 16 October, movie enthusiasts can enjoy up to 10 films every month for a nominal fee of ₹699.
This subscription pass is strategically designed to foster regular theater visits, promoting a healthy cinema culture among audiences. It must be noted that the said initiative under a limited period offer, with only 20,000 subscriptions, reports claim.
Affordable cinema experience & incentives for regular visitors
The 'PVR INOX Passport' subscription pass operates from Monday to Thursday and excludes premium services such as IMAX, Gold, LUXE, and Director's Cut. Gautam Dutta, co-CEO of PVR INOX Ltd, emphasised the importance of this initiative in reviving the dwindling trend of cinema attendance.
Dutta expressed concerns over rising ticket costs deterring viewers, particularly for mid-level and small budget films. To address this, the company has not only introduced the affordable subscription plan but also slashed food and beverage prices by 40 percent. Additionally, enticing food combos priced at ₹99 are available from Monday to Thursday between 9 am and 6 pm.
Target audience & how to avail 'PVR INOX Passport'
The 'PVR INOX Passport' subscription can be purchased through the official app or website, with a minimum subscription period of three months. Dutta highlighted the target audience for this offer, aiming at "students, housewives, and senior citizens."
To avail the subscription, moviegoers need to choose the Passport coupon as a payment option during the transaction checkout. However, it's important to note that viewers must present government-issued identification for movie entry, and the subscription is non-transferable.
