On Friday, the cryptocurrency market witnessed a day of bullish trading. Bitcoin, the original cryptocurrency, surged past the $29,000 milestone, marking a 3.84 percent gain and reaching $29,331.84. Ethereum also performed well, boasting a 2.48 percent increase, with a value of $1,586.94.
Other popular cryptocurrencies such as BNB and XRP followed suit, with BNB increasing by 1.73 percent and XRP gaining 7.48 percent at the time of writing this article (0930 IST).
The global cryptocurrency market cap experienced a 2.93 percent increase, reaching a total of $1.11 trillion over the last day.
Simultaneously, the total trading volume witnessed a gain of 5.92 percent, amounting to $42.25 billion.
Gainers and decliners
In terms of gainers and decliners, Bitcoin SV and Stacks emerged as the top performers on Friday, recording gains of 25.18 percent and 10.85 percent, respectively. Conversely, ApeCoin and THORChain were among the top losers, with declines of 3.25 percent and 2.27 percent, respectively.
Memecoins showed positive trends
In the world of memecoins, Dogecoin, backed by Elon Musk, experienced a 2.36 percent gain, while Shiba Inu joined the trend with a 3.38 percent increase. On the other hand, ArbDoge AI and Bad Idea AI showed negative performance.
Metaverse tokens traded in the green
Among Metaverse tokens, popular options like Internet Computer, Stacks, Render, The SandBox and Axie Infinity recorded gains of 0.27 percent, 11.27 percent, 1.62 percent, 2.87 percent, and 1.79 percent respectively, over the last 24 hours.
However, tokens like Ultra and Verasity registered price declines. Overall, it was a day of positive price movements in the cryptocurrency market, with most coins gaining value while a few experienced declines.
