Encouraging industry partnerships
The UIDAI has been actively fostering collaborations with industry and fintech partners under its Volunteer Guideline 2022. The primary aim is to accelerate technology adoption and seek innovative solutions to enhance services for residents.
Enhancing face authentication
As part of this initiative, UIDAI collaborated closely with Airtel Payments Bank over the past few months to enhance the resident experience with face authentication. This involved optimising face capture in low-light conditions and integrating robust fraud detection and prevention measures.
Practical use-cases
UIDAI also showcased practical applications during the Global Fintech Festival 2023 (GFF 2023). These included attendance systems for beneficiaries of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) and customer acquisition processes for banks.
Collaborative opportunities at GFF 2023
Under the theme ‘reimagine Aadhaar #together,’ UIDAI facilitated an industry meet-up at GFF 2023, bringing together executives from various fintech firms and ecosystem partners. The objective was to explore collaboration opportunities, co-innovation prospects, and the wider adoption of Aadhaar.
Fostering innovation
In a commitment to innovation, UIDAI introduced a roadmap for creating a new Sandbox environment and establishing a state-of-the-art Innovation Lab at the UIDAI Tech Centre. These initiatives are designed to support research and development, driving innovation in the Aadhaar ecosystem.
UIDAI's proactive approach emphasises collaboration between academia and industry partners, striving to empower residents with secure, seamless, and inclusive Aadhaar usage.
