  • New tools will be incorporated into Bard’s image prompts
  • Google increased its user base to Brazil, Europe and other nations

Google announced on Thursday, that it had updated Bard, its generative AI chatbot, with a number of new features, including support for several Indian languages.

With the addition of nine Indian languages—Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Gujarati, and Urdu—Google Bard will now be available in more than 40 languages worldwide. With this change, customers from different regions may now interact with Bard in their own languages, the company mentioned  in a statement, thereby improving accessibility and usability.

The upgrades come two months after the tech giant revealed that it was bringing the function to more than 180 nations worldwide at its premier technology conference, Google I/O 2023.

Choice of alteration given to Bard users

Bard users will have the choice to alter the tone and manner of Bard's responses (currently only available in English) to a variety of styles, including extended, short, and informal. Simply put, a built-in feature has been included that allows users to quickly and easily alter the tone and delivery of Bard's comments.

Additionally, Google has included new tools that let Bard users include images in prompts, allowing the chatbot to assess them and deliver pertinent details or descriptions. Users can now easily go back and look at their previous Bard prompts and responses. There are now options to pin, rename, and pick up recent conversations in the sidebar anytime a user starts a chat.

The upgrade came two months after the tech giant revealed that it was bringing the function to more than 180 nations worldwide at its premier technology conference Google I/O 2023.

By making Bard accessible in more places, including Brazil and all of Europe, Google has increased the user base.

Bard to support image analysis

The neural network architecture from Google and the LaMDA large language model (LLM) from within the company serve as the foundation for Bard. This improves the context and nuance with which the chatbot processes and comprehends user requests.

The chatbot will soon use Google's potent AI technology, which also powers Google Lens at the moment. As per the recent information, Bard will be able to comprehend and evaluate visual suggestions through the current integration. As of right now, users of Bard will see a camera icon on the search bar, enabling them to upload pictures for analysis.

With the new version, Google Bard offers users the option of concise and elaborate pointers, introducing a unique approach to its responses. Bard, as contrast to ChatGPT, enables users to indicate their preferences for the type of response they want.
