The common mobility card's primary goal is to replace traditional ticketing systems with a modern approach, ultimately offering a one-nation-one-card experience for citizens.

Highlights
- DTC buses are soon to have their National Common Mobility Card (NCMC)
- Delhiites to access to the NCMC's convenience in around 3 months
- A mobile app will also be introduced to facilitate online ticketing
Delhi's public transport system is about to witness a significant transformation with the introduction of the National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). The NCMC is set to become a one-stop solution for travellers in the city, simplifying their journeys and eliminating the need for traditional ticketing systems.
When will NCMC be available?
The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses are gearing up to offer this groundbreaking facility. The transport department has assessed all bids and conducted demo sessions to ensure the project's technical viability.
According to senior transport officials, the project is now ready to move from planning to implementation. The work will be awarded shortly, and within about three months, Delhiites can experience the convenience of the NCMC.
Aiming for seamless travel & digital transformation
The core objective of the common mobility card is to replace traditional ticketing systems with a streamlined, modern approach. This initiative aims to provide a one-nation-one-card experience for citizens. Each day, around 40 lakh people travel on Delhi's extensive bus network. This data will be crucial for better planning and management of the 500+ bus routes throughout the city.
What to expect with NCMC?
The project will be executed in phases, beginning with the supply and operation of electronic ticketing machines (ETMs) for 7,500 buses. Travellers will have the option of using Smart Cards or NCMC instead of cash for ticket purchases.
A mobile app will also be introduced to facilitate online ticketing and the purchase of daily or monthly passes. Moreover, the NCMC cards will enable multi-modal transit offline payments.
The introduction of NCMC aligns with Delhi's vision of creating a well-connected transport network in the city. The DMRC is already on track to be NCMC-compliant, with plans to extend this convenience to all transit options, making travel in Delhi more accessible and convenient. The city aims to offer travellers real-time information about bus occupancy and waiting times, thus transforming Delhi into a world-class city for public transport.
