  • The developers behind CupidBot focused on matching dates of users
  • The bot is reportedly focused on communicating with the matches
  • Twitter users call it a fake dating app

In February, the San Francisco-based OpenAI firm launched a $ 20-a-month plan which translates to Rs 1650. However, for Indian consumers, subscription costs were unaltered at the time of the announcement by the company, meaning that users must pay in US dollars per month in order to take advantage of the perks.

As per the recent information, a group of engineers who previously worked at Tinder, have claimed to develop an AI chatbot called  CupidBot.ai. This new bot will talk to the users' matches on their behalf and notify the user in case of their suitable match, revealed the report.

Inspiration of developers behind the dating app

The developers who are behind the creation of the AI dating website considered this app their personal success. As reported, the developers had also pitched the idea initially to Tinder, which refused to take this development forward, the reason being Tinder’s continuous engagement from men.

Developers stated that “We weren’t allowed to build a tool to help men get results at Tinder because the company profits from the continuous engagement of the men on the app will be hampered."

How does this chatbot work?

CupidBot.ai would swipe left and right on dating apps on behalf of the user and communicate with matches, according to its website. "We sift out the attention seekers and only tell you when you receive a date," the company explains on the website.

The AI chatbot accepts the Beta testers, along with providing an option for signing up for the Beta version. However, it's important to mention that the company officially has not validated the genuinity of this AI chatbot. Hence, they requested their readers to check it twice before proceeding ahead with any procedure or payment.

Users call it a scam on Twitter

In the wake of the launch of this site, several users have called CupidBot.ai a scam and tweeted about its no existing legitimacy. However, the Twitter handle of CupidBot.ai has responded to some of these users and has attempted to justify itself.
