Crypto prices today 12 Sep 2023: Bitcoin increases by 0.20%, Ethereum down by 1.78%

On Tuesday, Bitcoin bounced by 0.20 percent to $25779.80 over the past 24 hours. At the time of writing this article (0920 IST), its nearest rival, Ethereum, decreased by 1.78 percent to $1583.53.
As the market witnessed price fluctuation, the value of top tokens like Cardano and Polygon dipped by 0.37 percent and 1.52 percent respectively, while USD Coin rose by 0.01 percent.
The overall global crypto market cap also witnessed a decrease of 0.54 percent, reaching $1.03 trillion. However, the total trading volume increased by 63.84 percent to reach $34.96 billion, indicating high trading activity after the market's upward trend.
Gainers and decliners
Today's top gainers include Trust Wallet Token, Optimism and Frax Share. Contrastingly, coins like Arbitrum, Klaytn and UNUS SED LEO were among the top losers.
Memecoins trades mix
Popular memecoins were in the red. Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin went up by 0.83 percent to $0.06171. Other memecoins like Shiba Inu declined by 1.31 percent and Pepe Coin jumped by 0.25 percent.
Metaverse tokens slips
Most of the Metaverse tokens were trading low today. Internet Computer decreased by 1.78 percent, and The Sandbox slipped by 2.32 percent. The values of Decentraland and Theta Network also recorded a dip amid the market fluctuations.
