Crypto prices today 15 August 2023: Bitcoin decline by 0.04%, THORChain & Hedera among top gainers
On Tuesday, the value of top cryptocurrencies recorded a loss. The global crypto market decreased by 0.06 percent to stand at $1.17 trillion.

On Tuesday, Bitcoin dipped by 0.04 percent to $29363.37 since the past day. At the time of writing this article (0940 IST), its nearest rival, Ethereum, fell by 0.20 percent to $1,842.44.
As the market witnessed a decline, the prices of top tokens like Cardano went down by 0.29 percent to $0.2896, along with a slip of 0.66 percent in Polkadot. The value of Polygon decreased by 0.23 percent. On the contrary, the prices of Solana and Shiba Inu registered gains.
The overall global crypto market cap also witnessed a decline of 0.06 percent, reaching $1.17 trillion.
However, the total trading volume increased by 14.39 percent to reach $26 billion, indicating heightened trading activity despite the market's downward trend.
Gainers and decliners
Today's top gainers include THORChain, Hedera, Toncoin and Conflux. Contrastingly, coins like XDC Network, dydx, ApeCoin were among the top losers.
Meme coins trade mix
Popular meme coins noticed negative price fluctuations. Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin fell by 0.53 percent to $0.07441. Other meme coins like Shiba Inu increased by 0.41 percent and Pepe Coin plunged by 0.80 percent.
Metaverse tokens decline
Most of the metaverse tokens were trading low today. Internet Computer declined by 0.55 percent, and The Sandbox dipped by 0.62 percent. The values of Theta Network and Stacks also recorded a slip amid the market fluctuations.
