Crypto prices 19 June 2023: Bitcoin & Ethereum witness loss, Kava & Shiba Inu among top gainers

Cryptocurrencies witnessed mixed momentum on Monday. Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency in the world, traded in the red by 0.34 percent at $26,439.38 at the time of writing this article (0930 IST). Its nearest rival, Ethereum, also suffered a fall of 2.37 percent over the last 24 hours and now stands at $0.2615. As the market noticed a slight improvement, few crypto tokens still struggle with losses.

While the value of XRP grew by 2.11 percent, Cardano suffered a loss of 2.38 percent and Avalanche decreased by 1.58 percent. As per Coinmarketcap, growth can also be noticed in the prices of Polkadot and Monero by 0.86 percent and 0.76 percent, respectively. On the contrary, the value of Solana fell by 0.70 percent, followed by losses recorded in Toncoin, Litecoin, and Polygon by 0.68 percent, 0.19 percent, and 1.96 percent, respectively.

The global cryptocurrency market cap dropped by 0.44 percent to $1.06 trillion, while the total crypto market volume also declined by 10.74 percent to $20.83 billion.

Gainers and decliners

Today's top gainers include Kava, Shibu Inu, and Trust wallet token. Contrastingly, coins like Pepe, Apecoin, Fantom, and Mask network were among the top losers.

Meme coins witness mixed momentum

Popular meme coins recorded growth over the last 24 hours.The value of Elon Musk-backed Dogecoin grew by 0.05 percent and Shiba Inu increased by 2.76 percent. However, the price of Pepe and Floki went down by 6.19 percent and 2.50 respectively. Other meme coins like Dogelon and Baby Doge coin also traded in red.

Metaverse tokens dip

Most of the Metaverse tokens experienced a drop in their prices. Internet Computer dropped by 0.87 percent, and Stacks by 2.23 percent. Other tokens like Theta Network went up by 1.43 percent and LUKSO showed a commendable growth of 18.31 percent since the previous day.
