Crypto prices today 3 Jan 2024: Bitcoin cools off at $45.2K mark, memecoins traded in red

On Wednesday, Bitcoin, the largest crypto across the world, witnessed a decrease of 0.07 percent over the last 24 hours. Its value reached $45,292.49, at the time of writing this article (1130 IST). Many altcoins like Ethereum, Solana and Cardano decreased by 0.08 percent, 3.54 percent, and 0.1.48 percent, respectively. However, coins like BNB and XRP increased by 0.33 percent and 0.78 percent, respectively.

On 3 January 2024, the global crypto market cap stood at $1.74 trillion, registering a decline of 0.16 percent, while the total crypto market volume witnessed an increase of 19.46 percent to $72.1 billion.

At present, Bitcoin’s dominance is at 51.0 percent, while that of Ethereum is at 16.4 percent.

Gainers and losers

Today's top gainer was Internet Computer, which grew by 16.87 percent since the last day. It was followed by Arbitrum, Maker and Astar, among others. On the other hand, Stacks was the top decliner of the day, recording a fall of 8.93 percent in its prices. Further, Mina, Helium, etc. were in the red zone.

Memecoins traded in red

Today, most of the popular memecoins displayed red trends, Elon Musk’s favourite Dogecoin decreased by 1.18 percent. Other memecoins like Shiba Inu, Pepe, Bonk, Memecoin etc. showed downward trajectory and decreased by 1.16 percent, 0.40 percent, 4.50 percent, 2.06 percent, respectively, at the time of writing this article.

Metaverse tokens shows mixed trend

Most of the top Metaverse tokens registered a mixed trend in their value. Internet Computer, Ape Coin, and Zilliqa rose by 16.87 percent, 0.58 percent, and 4.09 percent, respectively. Contrastingly, Stacks, Render, Theta Network etc., were down by 9.24 percent, 3.81 percent, and 0.11 percent respectively amid the market fluctuations.
