Crypto prices today 18 Dec 2023: Bitcoin & Ethereum fall by 2.15% & 2.30% respectively
On Monday, the value of top cryptocurrencies recorded a loss. The global crypto market decreased by 2.28 percent to stand at $1.56 trillion.

Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, dipped by 2.15 percent to $41,087.49 over the past 24 hours. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, plunged by 2.30 percent to $2,170.00.
The total trading volume witnessed an increase of 11.79 percent, reaching $51.09 billion. However, the global crypto market cap decreased by 2.28 percent to reach $1.56 trillion.
Top gainers and losers
Helium, Bitget Token, and Stacks emerged as the top gainers today, with their prices surging by 10.43 percent, 8.68 percent, and 7.43 percent, respectively. On the other hand, Arweave, Conflux, and Kaspa were among the top losers, with their values dropping by 13.26 percent, 11.62 percent, and 9.43 percent, respectively.
Memecoins slips
Today, most of the popular memecoins displayed negative trends, Elon Musk’s favourite Dogecoin decreased by 3.84 percent. Other popular memecoins like Shiba Inu, Pepe, Floki and Memecoin experienced a loss in their value with their prices decreased by 8.00 percent, 5.65 percent, 6.08 percent and 9.99 percent, respectively.
Metaverse tokens negative performance
Metaverse tokens exhibited a negative performance today. Internet Computer, Render, The Sandbox, Theta Network, and Axie Infinity saw their prices decrease by 7.23 percent, 4.52 percent, 5.68 percent, 7.26 percent and 5.56 percent, respectively. However, Stacks, WEMIX, LUKSO etc. recorded an incline in their value, indicating a divergence in investor sentiment within the metaverse sector.
