On Monday, the cryptocurrency market witnessed a day of bullish trading. Bitcoin, the original cryptocurrency, surged past the $28,000 milestone, marking a 3.78 percent gain and reaching $28,097.35. Ethereum also performed well, boasting a 2.93 percent increase, with a value of $1,728.61.
Other popular cryptocurrencies such as BNB and XRP followed suit, with BNB increasing by 1.89 percent and XRP gaining 1.28 percent at the time of writing this article (10:30 IST).
The global cryptocurrency market cap experienced a 2.94 percent increase, reaching a total of $1.11 trillion over the last day.
Simultaneously, the total trading volume witnessed a remarkable gain of 14.07 percent, amounting to $34.49 billion.
Gainers and decliners
In terms of gainers and decliners, Render and Solana emerged as the top performers on Monday, recording gains of 13.51 percent and 13.38 percent, respectively. Conversely, Maker and Chainlink were among the top losers, with declines of 3.77 percent and 2.74 percent, respectively.
Memecoins showed positive trends on Monday
In the world of memecoins, Dogecoin, backed by Elon Musk, experienced a 1.55 percent gain, while Shiba Inu joined the trend with a 1.41 percent increase. On the other hand, Turbo and PAWSWAP showed negative performance.
Metaverse tokens traded in the green
Among Metaverse tokens, popular options like Internet Computer, Stacks, and Axie Infinity recorded gains of 2.22 percent, 5.68 percent, and 1.52 percent, respectively, over the last 24 hours.
However, tokens like Ultra and MOBOX registered price declines. Overall, it was a day of positive price movements in the cryptocurrency market, with most coins gaining value while a few experienced declines.
