French luxury brand Louis Vuitton announced the creation of the ‘VIA Treasure Trunk,’ a virtual version of its classic travel trunk, as the fashion industry continues to embrace the ‘phygital’ trend. Players can investigate the company's metaverse and go on a treasure hunt for 30 hidden NFTs.

On 8 June 2023, admirers of Louis Vuitton need to sign up for the waiting list using a cryptocurrency wallet. Selected individuals from the waitlist will be invited for a private preview of VIA on 14 June 2023, with the opportunity to purchase their VIA Treasure Trunk on 16 June 2023.
Louis Vuitton said that cryptocurrency payments are now accepted for the purchase of digital items as part of its entrance into the web3 sector. After the first purchase, users are unable to transfer or sell VIA Treasure Trunks due to their soulbound nature, ensuring that only the chosen individuals will have access to the VIA gateway. However, users will have the option to sell any future digital collectibles they buy through VIA on different NFT marketplaces.
