As the interest of users in OpenAI's ChatGPT increased, the advancements in the field of AI skyrocketed. In the wake of such ongoing developments, here comes another helpful chatbot for users from LinkedIn. According to recent information, LinkedIn is said to be working on an AI bot, named LinkedIn Coach, which may help users with several elements of their professional growth, including job applications, skill acquisition, and networking.

Millions of people utilise the platform worldwide, and it has aided many in securing their ideal positions. The feature is now undergoing testing, and the business has not made any official announcements about it.

How is the AI Coach going to be?

A screenshot of the tool, which demonstrates some of the queries users can put to the chatbot, was posted on Twitter by app researcher, Nima Owji. According to him, users might, for instance, inquire about a certain company's workplace culture, such as that of Microsoft, which owns LinkedIn.

"#Linkedin is working on LinkedIn Coach! It's an AI ASSISTANT that helps you apply for JOBS, learn new SKILLS, and find more ways to CONNECT with your network," Owji wrote on Twitter.

Ora Levit, Senior Director, Head of Core Growth + Premium at LinkedIn, wrote in a post, “Using generative AI with information from your profile, the hiring manager’s profile, the job description, and the company of interest, we create a highly personalised draft message to get a conversation started."

Although LinkedIn will assist with the initial draft, she continued, it is crucial for individuals to tailor their application. Therefore, job searchers should take the time to review the AI-generated message, tweak it, and personalise it to reflect their voice before sending it on.

Recent AI investments by LinkedIn

LinkedIn has been investing heavily in generative AI it seems and coach is not the first AI-powered feature that the platform has introduced.

The social media platform has been steadily introducing tools that leverage generative AI to assist customers in building and improving their profiles, resumes, and cover letters. One such tool is the resume builder on LinkedIn, which creates a résumé based on the user's profile details. Additionally, it provides a tool that can help users write a cover letter by offering tips and sample letters.
