Here’s how LinkedIn plans to integrate generative AI capabilities into writing posts
The Microsoft owned social media company, LinkedIn, announced a new AI feature that will allow users to turn a simple thought into a full fledged post.

Highlights
- LinkedIn’s new AI feature is currently under testing and will be rolled out after feedback
- Before posting, users can quickly alter and improve the draft with the help of the AI tool
From OpenAI's ChatGPT to Microsoft Bing, and Google's Bard along with other generative AI introductions, AI technological innovations are indeed witnessing growth. The adoption of generative AI has indeed increased the sales of the American chip maker, Nvidia. Amid these developments, followed by whopping investments, here comes employment-focused social media platform, LinkedIn, which plans to include generative AI technology in its interface.
A tool that uses generative AI to turn a simple thought into a full-fledged post is being tested by LinkedIn. The information was disclosed by LinkedIn's Director of Product, Keren Baruch, in a post, “When it comes to posting on LinkedIn, we’ve heard that you generally know what you want to say, but going from a great idea to a full fledged post can be challenging and time consuming. So, we’re starting to test a way for members to use generative AI directly within the LinkedIn share box.”
She further added that the functionality of the AI model is presently being evaluated, and before it is released, feedback will be collected.
Purpose of the new AI feature
Recent information also emphasised that users must start with a fundamental post that is at least 30 words long, contains just their own ideas, and summarises what they intend to convey. After that, users can produce the first draft using generative AI. It is this first draft that can be edited, polished, and modified to create the final post.
The purpose of this feature, as stated by Baruch, is to shorten the time needed to compose an appropriate post and to make it simpler for a user to convey their thoughts more effectively.
Linkedln's previous AI-related innovations
Notably, LinkedIn has already released AI content creation tools, such as ad copy recommendations and content creation for user profiles and job descriptions. To assist users in producing interesting content, these tools make use of platform data collection.

Additionally, LinkedIn has integrated generative AI capabilities for the creation of content for user profiles and job descriptions. The technology scans profiles to gather data about abilities and experiences, then produces drafts using that information. Using content from already-existing profiles guarantees authenticity. LinkedIn intends to progressively make the content creation tool accessible to all LinkedIn Premium subscribers after it was first tested in March 2023.
