Welcome ‘AI Ashley,’ world’s first AI-powered radio jockey

The first artificially intelligent RJ, referred to as 'AI Ashley,' has been unveiled by Live 95.5, a radio station in Portland, Oregon.

Futuri Media's RadioGPT was used to produce the new AI host, who will provide listeners with five hours of daily entertainment while bringing a unique touch to the airwaves. 

Futuri is an Ohio-based media company that has launched RadioGPT and is known as the world's first-ever radio platform powered by AI(artificial intelligence). 

Real Ashley not be entirely replaced by her AI equivalent, assures Live 95.5 

Ashley Elzinga, the human host at midday Live 95.5 has had her voice transformed into an AI clone, and listeners may now hear it. Cloned voices sound similar to the original voice of a human, which makes it difficult to distinguish between the two. However, the parent company of Live 95.5 has assured listeners that the original Ashley will not be entirely replaced by her AI equivalent.

Reports further suggest that advanced GPT-4 technology has been incorporated by Futuri Media's RadioGPT to generate the script for the AI RJ. For script creation, updated news from multiple digital platforms and social media outlets are said to be collected through the mentioned technology. Moreover, AI Ashley will take over from 10 am to 3 pm, interacting with listeners and even making special announcements like announcing wins.

Twitter users have mixed opinions on AI-based radio jockey 

Although Live 95.5 asserts that it is the ‘first radio station in the world with an AI DJ,’ it is still unknown whether attempts of a similar innovation have been done elsewhere. 

The introduction of AI Ashley spurred debates on Twitter over the effects of AI on the fluctuating job market. While some considered this introduction to be utter disrespect to human radio hosts, others applauded this innovation of Live 95.5 in exploring interesting ways to deliver content to audiences.
