App Alert! There are several apps on the Google Play store that have been banned for various reasons.  We've got the inside info on popular apps that have been removed from the Google Play Store. Let's check it out.

Sarahah App

This app became well-known for its anonymous chat capabilities has been removed from both the Apple & Google Play Store.  Reason: It was removed due to misuse for cyberbullying; petition with over 450,000 signatures cited horrifying content.

TubeMate

With the help of TubeMate, consumers could download YouTube videos straight to their cellphones.  Reason: Banned for enabling direct downloading of YouTube videos, contravening Google's policies.

When an app is taken down from Google Play, it remains on your device but can't be updated. You can still use it as is.

AdAway

On Android smartphones, AdAway made it easier for people to get rid of all those unwanted advertising.  Reason: It got removed from Play Store, presumably due to policy violations.

PSX4Droid

Users were able to play PlayStation games on their Android devices by using PSX4Droid. Reason:  The app was taken down due to legal and copyright issues, despite its popularity.

Rush Poker

Rush Poker, one of the most downloaded gambling applications on the Play Store, was taken down from Google's Play Store. Reason: Banned for facilitating real-money gambling and attracting underage users.

Popcorn Time

This app was designed for movie enthusiasts, enabling them to preview trailers, choose subtitles & download their preferred content for later viewing. Reason: Allowed illegal content downloads for movies and TV series, in violation of copyright laws.
