Did you know that the Emergency SOS function on your Apple iPhone makes use of satellite technology to provide an extra layer of security? This implies that you may quickly contact for assistance in any dangerous circumstance. Here's how you can enable this feature.
– Firstly, open the ‘Settings’ app on your Apple device. – In the Settings menu, scroll down and find the ‘Emergency SOS’ option.
- Turn on all the options. After that you can quickly activate Emergency SOS by pressing the side button. - In the same Emergency SOS settings, you can even add emergency contacts.
Apple has revealed that it is giving current iPhone 14 owners an additional year of free satellite access to Emergency SOS.
You will need to be in an area with no coverage. If you attempt to phone emergency services first but are unable to connect, you will be given the option to send messages via satellite.
The iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15, or iPhone 15 Pro are the models that enable this satellite capability when there is no cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity to text emergency services.
The Emergency SOS via satellite is available in a total of 17 countries, including the US and Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and more.
