Google I/O is an annual developer conference that Google hosts every year. The event talks about the company's latest and newest products, upgrades, software, and other advancements.
Pichai unveiled PaLM 2, which is the newest version of Google’s large language model (LLM). This version is a state-of-the-art language model which supports about 100 languages, and also allows collaboration.
Google Photos will soon have a Magic Editor that will make use of semantic engineering and generative AI to enhance images. This development is expected later this year.
A new Immersive View for Maps routes was also unveiled, giving detailed information on traffic simulations, bike lanes, complex intersections, parking, etc.
'Help me write' tool will soon be used by Gmail, which would help the users in composing replies by drawing relevant information from the message. Options like 'Elaborate' or 'Recreate' can also be selected.
Google Bard can now perform both coding and debugging in over 20 programming languages. Google is opening up access to Bard to more than 180 countries and regions in English.
