During its September hardware event, Amazon unveiled enhancements powered by generative AI across its Echo and Fire TV devices. Alexa is set to integrate generative AI, extending these features to all existing Echo devices and marking a significant advancement in customer solutions.
Alexa’s generative AI will now be able to have proper conversation with the user without calling the “wake up word Alexa”. The AI model will enable Alexa too offer personal reminders according to user interactions. For example, Alexa will be able to suggest recipes according to your grocery purchases.
This new smart display has spatial audio features and supports smart home hubs functionally. It can now sense acoustics in a room and adjust the sound output accordingly. It has a new feature, a proximity sensor, and a front facing camera that has a physical switch to turn off the microphone.
Fire TV is also getting AI feature, which promises to give better experiences and improve search and recommendation by combining generative AI and Fire TV’s extensive library. It will help people find content in a much easier and more conversational way. Customers will be able to ask Alexa any content based on some specific keywords, genre, actors, etc.
Introducing Echo Frames audio glasses up to 6-hour battery life, pairable with two devices, five stylish designs, including prescription and blue light lenses. Enhanced audio quality, immersive sound, and hands free design for a seamless experience.
The Echo Hub Smart Home Amazon also unveiled the Echo Hub, a novel smart home controller resembling a touchscreen tablet rather than a typical smart display. This 8-inch tablet-like gadget, operating on the same system as the new Echo Show 5, lacks a camera but offers smart home control functionality.
